Broccoli Sprouts Give Higher Cancer Protection
Health watchers know that broccoli is well-known for its powerful cancer-fighting properties.
But did you know that you can get 20 to 50 times more cancer protection by eating 3-day-old broccoli sprouts?

This is because the broccoli's cancer-fighting compounds, such as sulforaphane, are more concentrated in the sprouts. Just an ounce of the broccoli sprout contains more sulforaphane than two pounds of the mature broccoli head.
There are more than 700 studies to date which have examined the link between sulforaphane from cruciferous vegetables, and cancer prevention.
One interesting study suggests the carcinogen detoxification action of broccoli sprouts. In simple language, those who ate broccoli sprouts were cleansed of cancer-causing substances.
In another series of studies, Japanese researchers found an exciting link between broccoli sprouts and H.pylori infection, which is known to cause gastritis and believed to be a major factor in peptic ulcer and stomach cancer. The researchers discovered that simply eating broccoli sprouts suppressed the H.pylori infection and relieved the accompanying gastritis.
Researchers at The Ohio State University Medical Center furthermore found out that consuming broccoli and brussels sprouts induces the body to produce 13C [indole-3-carbinol], a substance which has the ability to stop the proliferation of breast cancer cells and the molecule called Cdc25A, which is present in abnormally high levels in breast cancer patients.
Aside from attacking and destroying both the Cdc25A and breast cancer cells, the researchers believe that 13C can also fight other cancer cells and possibly reverse Alzheimer's disease.
Broccoli sprout is a very potent natural cancer cure readily available at local grocery stores, or if you desire, in your own backyard. You can easily grow broccoli sprouts at home. Just buy broccoli seeds from health food markets or coops, soak it in water, and rinse it once a day.
The seeds will sprout by day 3. It will attain its maximum carcinogen detoxifying properties in another three days, and that's the time to harvest and incorporate it into your recipes, or use as an edible garnish.
